Surviving another school year

The kids’ first day of school is tomorrow. Wow, I can’t believe summer is almost over! While I dread the mounds of papers I’ll undoubtedly have to read and fill out over the next two weeks, I’m looking forward to a set routine and schedule — two things that will make this single mama’s life a whole lot easier. I hope.

In the spirit of the season, I’ve made my very own back-to-school shopping list — one that I hope a few of you single parents can use, too. Check it out at this month’s Dinner for One and let me know what’s on your list to get through the school year ahead!

  1. Yeah, thanks for the reminder of all those damn papers we gotta sign! I hadn’t even thought about it – I was just so giddy to get them out of the house:)

  2. I love summer but have to admit that, as a single parent, I am looking forward to the predictable schedule that the academic year brings… It is just nice to know what each week looks like – easier to focus on the moments rather than trying to juggle different schedules for different weeks and just trying to remember which day of the week it is!

    Schedule? What’s that like?

Seriously, yep.. as single parents, no schedule would be the death of us wouldn’t it?

Anyway, yes, school’s already started here. My little one’s still not happy that big sister is at the big kids’ school. Now my little one is rulin’ the preschool on her own. And she’s not happy about it one bit.

    Eh, she’ll live.
